Fall-Inspired Baby Food Recipes Using the Duo Meal Station
As fall arrives, it brings an abundance of seasonal vegetables that are perfect for introducing comforting and nutritious flavors to your little one. From squash to root veggies, and apples to pears, this season offers a variety of wholesome ingredients for your baby’s first foods. If you’re just beginning your weaning journey or looking for new recipe ideas, we’re excited to share some of our favorite fall-inspired purees that you can easily prepare with the award-winning Duo Meal Station.
Baby’s First Beef Stew
12 months+ | Makes 4 servings | Cook time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 3 baby onions
- 1 garlic clove
- 5 oz (140g) stewing beef, diced
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 medium potato, peeled and chopped
- ½ leek, washed thoroughly
- A sprig of parsley
- A sprig of thyme
Instructions
- Fill the Duo Meal Station water tank.
- In the lower steaming basket, add the beef, baby onions, garlic clove, thyme, and parsley. Steam for 30 minutes.
- Add the carrots, potato, and leeks to the upper basket and steam for an additional 15 minutes.
- Once done, transfer all ingredients to the blending unit. Add olive oil and some cooking liquid. Blend for 30 seconds at a time, pulsing until you reach the desired texture. Serve warm or store in Babybols containers.

Carrot and Parsnip Puree
6 months+ | Makes 4 servings | Cook time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 small parsnip, peeled and chopped
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Fill the Duo Meal Station water tank.
- Place the carrots in the lower basket and parsnips in the upper basket.
- Steam for 15 minutes.
- Transfer the vegetables to the blending unit. Add the butter and a bit of the cooking juice. Pulse blend for 30 seconds at a time. Serve immediately or store in the fridge.

Pumpkin Puree
6 months+ | Cook time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 5 oz (150g) pumpkin or butternut squash, diced
Instructions
- Wash, peel, and remove seeds from the pumpkin before cutting it into small cubes.
- Place the pumpkin in the steaming basket and steam for 16 minutes.
- Once done, transfer the pumpkin to the blending unit and add about ¼ cup of the cooking liquid. Pulse blend on medium speed until smooth. If the puree is too thick, gradually add more cooking liquid. Since pumpkin contains a lot of water naturally, you won’t need to add too much extra liquid. Serve or refrigerate.
First Apple Compote
6 months+ | Cook time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 7 oz (200g) apples, cored and diced
Instructions
- Place the diced apples in the steaming basket and steam for 15 minutes.
- After steaming, transfer half of the apples to the blending unit and add ¼ cup of cooking liquid. Pulse blend until smooth or leave it slightly chunky based on your baby’s preference. Serve fresh or store in the fridge.
